Custom wiring for broadband

I want to get my phone/broadband installation tidied up. It currently has a long run of untidy cable inside the house from the front to the back. I would like to run it around the outside of the house instead. I don't want to do it myself. Ideally I would get BT to do it at the same time that they upgraded the broadband to fibre. I would be prepared to pay them to do this, but it's impossible to speak to anyone to discuss any requirements. Their model seems to be to just turn up, once you book your upgrade, and then suck their teeth when they see that it's going to be a bit of a challenge (and then tell me "this fibre stuff isn't as good as they say" - no really, that's literally what happened).

So I would like to find a contractor who can (ideally) put in the external cabling and connect it to the existing incoming phone line, in a way that BT can then use when they come and upgrade the broadband.

But I have no clue where to find such a person, and google isn't helping much.

Can anyone advise?

if your having fibre the old copper cable is not used.the only copper would be on any internal extensions if you're not using wireless sets.

Bt usually charge a small fortune if they’ll do it at all ! Contact a local sparky they should be able to do it .
Unfortunately you’re too far away from me or I could have helped !!

^^^ Any competent modern electrician should be able to do this for you. Installation will vary whether it’s fibre to premises or cabinet. The latter is easier as you can just use CAT 6 network cable to go from to rear from their master socket. If it’s to premises, you’ll probably need to have your router at the front with power and I’d consider going for a wi-fi mesh system to cover the property. I went with Virgin and got them to run their coax around the front of the house and down the side to a network point I had installed in the lounge. From there it feeds into a CAT 6 network system with hard-wired mesh aerials of each of the 3 floors of the house (plus one in the garage) to give me the best of both worlds. Without such a network I’d suggest investing in a good mesh set-up.
