We've added some more options to the range for 2023.

The Dark Engine, Dark Engine MAX and Dark Engine ID (and their covert versions) are now available with either:

Single mode full power push button on off switch.
Three mode (low/medium/full power) illuminated push button switch with power memory.
Variable rotary dimmer incorporating a push button on off with status indicator.

To help select the correct model...
The Dark Engine ID is for dedicated scopes at 3.5x - 8x base magnification. It will also work with an add on.

The single power is great for centre fire rifles with lower sensitivity systems and longer ranges such as digital add ons and higher resolution dedicated digital scopes.
The three mode is great for all of the above, plus if you also want to do some shorter range work with an airgun or rimfire and save battery.
The variable power is great for EVERYTHING, but is particularly suited to higher sensitivity systems either digital or tubed where you need to very accurately fine tune the level of illumination. In operation with the variable you can quickly adjust the power output while it is off by turning the dimmer knob and then turn it on with a press. There are stops at either end of the travel so you know where you are. It's not an endless stepper used in some designs.

Can you advise which I am Best Buy for the Alpex. Would like variable brightness and flood/beam.
Was looking a Blade, but don’t think this is covert. Is there a 940 blade that does everything? Thanks. Nick
