You have to laugh at shooters, last year they were all moaning that there were no game fairs because of covid. This year the fairs are open and they are moaning that they are not cheap enough.
Would you go to your local gun shop and not expect a deal or two if you were spending 3 figures .Why should it be any different at a fair .They have a target audience ,thousands all in one place mostly the same interests but seem to think they can sting folk rather than drop prices .I get the ground rents high but surely better to go home with a lighter trailer having sold gear than drag the same overpriced stuff back home .
I remember where I get a deal and that’s where I’ll spend my cash on rifles ,scopes and accessories right down to ammo ,the shops bread and butter .Try sting me once or not budge and I’ll not forget .
Show specials are a con these days ,paying same as shop prices ,used to be a real show deal that sold out first come first serve .
If the ground rent rises forcing high prices the show itself will be a memory as trades fade away .Already been a no show from a few stands I’ve come to associate with the game fair .
I tried to get a deal on an fac airgun that was £1598.00 but not a penny budge .Last day tried same and still on shelf with the same line up as Saturday .My local gun shop doing same for £1100 with a scope ffs .
Profit is one thing ,paying a bit at a fair is another but robbery is a shite trick the vendor deserves to get stuck with .
Same product be on internet Monday £500 notes less .
