Hello all

Well after finding a really great Discovery , I have to sell it as a Defender 300tdi has turned up and I’ve been after one for a while now.

I bought this Disco a couple of weeks ago and it’s a really good one, 1 previous owner 117k miles and a great service history.
Comes with 10 months mot and new T&C seat covers on the front

So far I’ve found
ACE has been properly deleted ( dummy pulley fitted etc)
Air con has a worn through hose and needs a recharge

Other than that it’s all A1

Chassis is great, repair some to rear rail bottoms ( fine but not to my standard)
Body is superb. Again, one repair inside rear door ( not to my standard but perfectly fine)

Drives great , handles great and has a recent set of Geolanders fitted

Looking for decent offers around 3k as it has to go.

As someone who owned & regularly used a 300Tdi 90 Station Wagon for circa 20 years & at the same time also ran a Td5 facelift Discovery 2, I'd hang fire a bit before deciding to bin the Disco in favour of the Defender. I sold my Disco & soldiered on with the Defender until eventually realising, even after swapping the 90 for a 110, that I should have kept the Disco. I now have a very late model facelift Disco 2 for all my shooting/stalking needs & won't ever go back to a Defender, the Disco is just too comfortable & is just as capable if not more so in standard trim. Only way I think I'd get rid of it would be if I consolidate down to a single vehicle in which case I'd be looking at a double cab pick up of some sort.

Looks like a GS spec, same as the one I used to have but mine was manual, genuine 5 seats on springs from new not rear air. If I wasn't already sorted with my V8 then it'd be exactly what I would be looking for and at that price I wouldn't expect it to hang around for long if the condition is as you say. I still say keep it and pass on the 300Tdi though.

As DB said, that is a good price and shouldn't hang around too long if its as good as it looks......... I'm a Defender TD5 driver and quite tempted!
