I have a 70’s Barnett 150 lb recurve, it’s great fun!

Would love to bow hunt (bow rather than crossbow if I had a choice) but don’t think we’ll get the opportunity in the UK.

We sell a lot of crossbow sometimes it worries me with the people who buy them, one women bought two pistol style for the kids, which one don’t you like I asked.

I believe that this has come about because of a murder in a hamlet close to where I live.

A couple were both shot inside their own home by a neighbour who had gained access through the roof space and waited for them to arrive home.

She escaped the property, he from what I remember was hit by a bolt but was initially able to talk on his mobile to the emergency services albeit he was incapacitated.

The very sad part was he bled out over some time because the emergency services would not ‘rescue’ him immediately as the property had not been cleared as danger free by I presume armed police.

The widow of this unfortunate man started a petition to ban cross bows subsequently

There is also the "High profile " case of the Channel 4 horse racing pundits wife & daughters who got murdered by the daughters estranged boyfriend, he wanted to murder the whole family.
He tried to kill himself afterwards and was found with severe injuries in a churchyard with a crossbow bolt embedded in his body...
A complete nutter.

Leave it until a few weeks before the ban kicks in and someone will give you one... they won't want the hassle of applying for a licence.
Shops will be discounting them at cost price to clear the stock.

I shoot plenty of sika deer in thick forest using a Creedmoor. They tend not to go more than a few metres unless my shot placement is off.

Works best in a buyback system like they had in the US. Flat $200 rate and people were making shotguns from a few bits of scrap pipe and making good money on them
