Doe/ Hind stalking advice.

Okay, as a complete novice I often ponder and image me stalking.
One thaught that has stuck with me over the last week or so is doe/hind stalking.

With the Doe's or Hinds about to come in to season shortly it has occurred to me that I am still seeing a lot of fawns about still following.

So my question is how do you select Does/Hinds suitable for a cull?
Come the 1st of Nov will the fawns survive if their mothers are culled?
What other things do you consider when stalking Does/Hinds?

I think howy308 and parkes are getting a little confused. If you shoot the followers first as they are implying then what you are doing is shooting last years calves/ kids, they will actually be around 17-18 months old and fully capable of looking after themselves. I think howy308 and parkes are referring to "followers" as kids/calves which is incorrect. Most stalker always try and take the kid/calf first up until around Christmas as a rule of thumb. Hope this hepls. ATB 1995rs

if you want to increase your deer only take does with no followers otherwise followers first

So if there's a follower there off limits ? ... how many animals would it be wise to take off a patch in a season without reducing the numbers too much ?
