As per title. stalking a group of roe and came across this poor old doe. hair off the muzzle like mange and she could not see me i dont think. glad i went out for this alone . I didnt fancy butchering her of course. Also noticed dark green sticky liquid out of nose-probably due to the neck shot i reckon but all in all what a state. This is why deer need managed is it not.

Dark green liquid is stomach contents.

Apart from being blind and having a slightly bald snout she may well have been healthy.

Did you open het up and check the glands? What was her overall body condition like?

Far too lethargic for me to even consider butchering m8.She lifted her head so slowly a few times to offer a shot .I wouldnt eat that meat nor would i offer it to another regardless of glands and vitals showing no issues.

Hair loss on that side of the face could have been due to rubbing, possibly coupled with the eye issue on that side? Did you check the teeth as that can often indicate problems that lead to the rubbing. What were the glands like?
