Dogs wee burning lawn

I have heard of vinegar in their water not sure what type, then sure I seen some crystals you put in their water but can’t remember.

Potty train. Serious I think bitches are the problem rather than dogs.

When my dog puppy comes out of the kennel he wees within seconds and I water it with rain water. The grass grows like hell! It's that long first one each time that's the main problem.

One of the guys at work and heard an old wives tail about cheap ketchup( aldi or lidil i cant remember!) in there food - he swears by it now and says the burn patches have stopped!

I'd be disinclined to start messing with the dog's water or food just on the back of rumour. Accept that it happens and as has been said by other members, rinse the area. I'm guessing this is a bitch? Their pee is full of hormones and it's most likely that is what's seeing the grass off. An area of bark chips might be an idea...…

Urine is very high in nitrogen, and that's what causes the discolouration. I don't mess with our dogs food or water, but just rinse the area from time to time if it's particularly dry weather.

It will just be the urime as has been said but tends to be a problem more with bitches as dogs tend to pee round the edge of the garden on a tree/post etc so u don't get any marks in the middle. With dogs u tend to find the grass round ur clothes pole/tree is dead

They're are rocks specially marketted for this, so i persume totally safe.

The other thing u can do is train ur dog to pee almost on command and try yto encourage it in a certain area, either puts some chips down or something.
Its actually quite handy if ur travelling a long distance and stop to get ur dogs to pee quite quickly


Ps I'm guessing the nitrogen in pe will be urea? hence wot dexter say if u dilute it gass will grow as just liquid fertiliser

I bought dog rocks from local shop just stones you add to water bowl

Seemed to work

You can buy rocks that you can put in the water. That does the trick for me

Cheap tomato sauce diluted with water is supposed to work, a bitches urine is more acidic than a dogs I've heard/been told. My rough lawn where poppy pees on has patches everywhere. deerwarden

There's a product called Dog Rocks that's supposed to prevent it. Just Google it, it's a Registered name.
