Not sure if this is the correct area but here goes!
I had my DSC1 over the weekend and today with Ben Lightowler from Deer Central (apologies if I've mispelt your name!). I'd paid for the handbook and in addition I'd signed up for the British deer training website so I could test myself prior to the course.
To be honest going through the manual and also the online tests was like wading through treacle and although I started off well with the online tests I started deteriorating and for the last few weeks was failing.
Prior to the course I'll admit I was quite despondent however Ben quickly got me on track with his talks and willingness to answer our questions, though some where deferred until later session where that bit would be covered in detail.
Test wise we did a bit on the second day but the bulk was on the final day. In an ideal world I'd like the tests to be more spread out however due to the test book being provided externally I can't see how Ben could have done this differently.
Overall I'd recommend doing this course even if it's just to reassure your self that what you are doing meets current expectations for this field.
