Easy alternative to bino harness

I wanted a way to stop my binos from moving about, especially if I crouch or crawl, but didn't fancy having a bino harness strapped to my chest, as I feel I already have enough paraphernalia. So I sewed a couple of magnets covered with a thin leather patch onto my stalking jacket where the ends of the binos naturally rest when I've got them round my neck. And then strapped a few more onto each end near the objective lens with some self-amalgamating tape. Works very well so far, they're held just firmly enough to the jacket, and 'snap back' into place very quietly.

I had an old guy come stalking with me who had a really simply yet ingenious piece of lycra that he had strapped around his chest. When needed he simply pulled it up over the lower half of the binos and it held them still. Very cheap, lightweight, simple and worked perfectly.

I absolutley detested being trussed up like a pig-boned chicken in the bins harness I bought last year and in short order gave it away. Get the field glasses' straps to the right length for your proportions and the underarm position works a treat I find.
