Easy Knife sharpener recommendations please

Can anyone recommend an easy to use knife sharpener that won’t ruin a blade please?

I have some cheap Winchester knives that got me going but not sure of the best sharpening method or tool. Also have an EKA G4 on the way so hopefully something that will suit that?

Thanks!

Following this but I'm looking for a double sided diamond stone on a stand of some kind ..

I’d recommend the Spyderco Sharpmaker. I’ve had one for many years and it really is an easy and excellent tool for putting on a quick and very sharp edge.

Edge Pro Apex.

Completely idiot proof (and I am definitely an idiot when it comes to sharpening).

Tried all sorts of others, this is the only one that really worked the way I wanted it to.

I have - worksharp bench top precision, Lansky masters edge, and worksharp angle set

Lansky masters edge is far far better than either of the worksharp unless you knife is pretty funked or you are reprofiling

Ordered one too..... see how many of my cheaper knives I wreck
I've started with the kitchen knives, they were trashed anyway so couldn't make them worse. Will work my way up through boning knives and moras before I try anything too good

Like any skill, just concentrate on the task, and start taking plenty of time; once you have the feel for it, the speed will come. Nothing beats a diamond for hardness, so light strokes not heavy ones will get the job done, even though it may take a couple more strokes.

Concentrate on the basic requirement, ie getting the correct and consistent angle of blade against the stone. Time and repetition will do the rest.
