English rifle stock rigby style - grip cap or rounded pistol grip?

I have both, I find the rounded is more open and lends itself better to standing and offhand shooting. The grip cap is steeper and better for sitting and prone positions

It's difficult to beat the original Rigby style for a classic stalking rifle.

A rifle with a more contemporary look may benefit from a more angular grip though.

My preference is for a rounded grip. More comfortable in the hand.

I have also gone for cap on my 2. They also have a small compartment which houses a spare foresight in the event the original is lost in the bush

Each to their own but for me the cap end will always look more Germanic and gilded than the simple British beauty of a rounded grip.

Might be a bit sensible but surely it depends on your hand shape and what is a comfortable wrist angle. They both look good so why not get the one that allows you to shoot better.

For sure, its all personal preference, I was just commenting that Rigby didn't confine itself to a rounded grip
