Estate Recommendations - 2026/2027 Hinds

As the title suggests, I’m looking for recommendations for next Hind season.

A friend and I have enjoyed two fantastic weeks of Hind stalking on the same estate north of Inverness. We’ll definitely be going back in future, but we’re keen to explore more of Scotland and experience some different ground.

We’re both fit and would prefer somewhere with rugged, challenging terrain. Our main priority is finding an estate that takes deer management seriously and runs a proper, thoughtful cull—good craic is also mandatory!

I’ve already reached out to a few estates but have had mixed success getting replies, so any personal recommendations or recent experiences would be hugely appreciated.

If you are fit and willing to work hard it might be worth contacting Hamanavay. There's no mechanical extraction so if you shoot it then you've got to drag it and the ground can be very challenging. Should you also stay in the lodge then it is about 1 hour drive from the public road so it is about as remote as it gets.

They may also be able to offer days on Amhuinnsuidhe, one of the great sporting estates, but if you want really wild and remote then Hamanavay is another step up from Amhuinnsuidhe.

The owners actually have 3 estates that border each other and so it may be possible to get some arrangement to have days on each - Morsgail isn't as well known as the other two but it is still a very nice place.
