Ex forestry commission vehicles

I think there are some threads about this if you search, but I'm curious to find out what comes back from the SD on this. I like the idea of having a rifle save, internal dog crate and a winch all fitted.
I imaging they are pretty beaten up by the time they come up for re-sale so they might be a bargain price if you don't mind taking a hit on the wear and tear.

I believe a dealer bought a few, no idea what it fetched. One to look out for though, it is a cracker

I would concur with ranger22 that on the whole there a good buy, they get well looked after, I guess it slightly depends on geography as to the life they might have had before, they go to wholesale auction nationally so could end up anywhere and you'd not know if it had been in Scotland, Devon or Suffolk, I know round here they're often doing very low speeds most of the time relative to mileage and aren't doing masses of road miles, so wear on the engine may vary...
I asked about buying them a few years ago and was told they all go to auction.
one went through the Colchester auction which I bought three years ago and apart from body damage(easily put right) it was a cracker.

We have a standard spec but not sure if the conversion is done in-house or not - Ranger22 is likely to know

Mate of mine had one a few years ago.
£2,000 from a dealer in the midlands and it was a cracking vehicle for a good few years.
Was pretty rough to be fair ….. bullet hole in the bonnet, new rad from where the bullet went through it etc but got us about and made lambing a whole lot easier witht eh light in the roof!
Those 2 there look much better done than it was.
Decent buy as long as you don't mind the look and also losing the back seats, excellent for keeping dogs split off though.

Having seen how they have done it, I am contemplating converting a HiLux.
I have already spoken to Barjo about building in a dog box where back seats go but I like the idea of the rifle box so am holding off till I look at how easy it will be to do the full "wildlife"
I believe the FC have some Hilux now
