Factory amo copaired to home loads

Shooting .222 I dialed in to 400m with my home loads to knock a few crows off at the back of the farm. The crow have been landing somewhere between 365 and 425 and i have been holding off to allow for the wind, I have been hitting 1 in 3. my load is 21gr reloader 7 topped with 50 gr hornady vmax

I picked up a box of Winchester 50 sp the other day just out of convenience and they were hitting 18inches to 2 foot lower than what i had dialed in for the home loads

I have tried the Winchesters at 100 and they hit 4- 6 inches lower than what my home loads did. That is a big difference and more than enough to miss a fox at that or more.

All Thoughts and comparisons appreciated

Each time you use a different type of ammunition, you need to check where it shoots with your rifle and if necessary, adjust the sights to get the point of impact you desire.

sounds like you havnt been around a CF rifle very long, any change of ammo (apart from your home loads IF loaded correctly) you will have to check POI

It would be coincidence if the POI was the same.
It is not a surprise to see 4MOA at 100m between them on the basis they are two different loads.
Probably not much help that!
