They are not a herding animal , so you don't need subsonic ( and as others have pointed out its not legal regards the deer act) . Killing muntjac is mainly about getting the shot in in those rare moments they hold still for a few seconds to get a bead on them !

Thanks all. First outing and first muntjac dispatched. No one complained about the noise so will just stick with the .308. Called one nice buck in to about 20 yards, but unfortunately from an unsafe direction, so no shot.
