Fallow deer liver abnormalities

Hey folks,

got a yearling earlier in the year that had this liver abnormality.

Lymph nodes were all fine and everything else suggests a healthy deer.

this was in Ireland and in a very wet forest area.

Anyone have an idea what it could be. Pictures below. Note I didn't cut into it at the time unfortunately.

I think there is some tracking in that which would suggest fluke, but not the lumpy bits on it, especially that left hand side which looks very solid fibrous tissue. You say yearling, so this could be scarring from an umbilical infection

Yeah, the lumpy bits were definitely solid.

I did see it on another older fallow doe in a similar area previously as well so it wasn't a one off.
