Felling hot? Time for a perspective check

They're better men than me by a long way.

Thank you to all those serving, may you all come home quick and safe

Having spent a couple of summers serving in a sand pit it is nice to enjoy the hot weather without the body amour sweat rash and the sensory overload of the company’s porta-loo in 40 degrees that will haunt me for ever.
Good luck to those still serving in hot dust holes.

my most memorable moment was in the centre of basra (Jul/Aug time) for 24 hours in my Warrior turret battened down due to charming locals having a go, touching the metal bits burnt your fingers, conservative estimates over 50 degrees C. For the first time i would have preferred to be ducking and diving on my feet! Would not have changed it for the world, as although hot every experience was unique challege faced with awesome soldiers.

I think i lost over half a stone in body weight that day! The ice cold sprite on return to camp was out of this world

Ha ha, i remember visiting there. Some people did 6 months and never found the perimeter!
