Firearm Export

I'm looking at exporting a rifle to a country in Europe. Private seller to private buyer. Is there anyone who has done this recently that can tell me the process?

Hi Tackleberry,

I exported my 6 sporting rifles and 1 section 5 pistol to the USA. A little different I know but, the company I used and I really can't say enough about them are PDQ Freight LTD based in Ashford Middlesex. The person you most need to speak to is Bob Nagra

Bob was fantastic and dealing with the ATF and the importer was, I have to admit quite a daunting prospect for me but he does it so much and to all over the world it all went like clockwork.

I looked at a lot of exporters and Bob Nagra's name always came up somewhere so I gave him a call.

I know it's not perhaps what you had hoped for but I would imagine Europe is a lot more straight forward than the US? But, in saying that, when somebody knows what they are doing it wasn't the horrendous task that I had imagined.

Wish you all the best,

I've always used Harry Gordon - he makes a living out of this and is very good indeed at it; since he's pretty well a one man band, he does not have to carry large organisational overheads and prices reflect accordingly. I know a number of UK auction houses use him since eh is specialist and responsive. tel.: 07956 385151

Ben, definitely use an RFD with experience of dealing with 'agents' or can act as one. Its quite common however, so if above options dont work for you, ping me and Ill give you a few names in Surrey and Cheshire.

Ive shipped numerous firearms abroad over the years, the last being 12 months ago,

The paperwork is a relatively simple process - do all on line through HM Gov portal (you need to create an account)

You will need the spec sheet of the rifle (from the manufacturer, rifle builder etc),

You also need to say who is shipping the weapon - ive used PBS Shipping several times they are excellent and specialise in such things.

End user documents also needed and a end use disclosure required (basically stating they are not intending to start a war)

All forms upploadable on line.

Sorry to butt in on an old thread. I'm wondering about the costs and process of purchasing (online) and exporting a used firearm from the UK to NZ. Would you recommend Harry Gordon for this kind of transaction? Does he have email? Cheers.
