First thermal recommendations please

Hi all. Thanks for the warm welcomes to the forum 😀

I'm after recommendations for thermal monoculars/binoculars please.

So i'v looked and looked and looked some more... And still have no idea, so I decided to ask those in the know.

So essentially my budget is around the 2k mark plus or minus. And would like to use it for rats, rabbits, fox and eventually deer.

Image quality is a priority for me and a lrf would be helpful.

I'v looked at the condor 35 2.0 (but not many videos of this specific spotter online, more the 50 2.0)

The finder 35 v2 ( seems very good value for money )

nocpix quest h50r ( very much top end price, I can see the benefit of stability with being binoculars rather then monoculars )

If anyone has any other suggestions I would appreciate the feedback or general input on these thermals. Hopefully I'm looking to make it a long term investment 👍

Thanks in advance. Dave

Hello, You do not need to spend that much on Thermal , I would go for a Monocular as leaves 1 hand free if your ratting and rabbits while you scan the area, Stalking with rifle over shoulder then Binoculars would suffice before you take a shot, As with the above many SD members are finding the ATN 635 Blaze Hunter Monocular good,

If you have a budget of around £2k , then make sure you use it to get the best there is in that price range.. you will end up with a sub par thermal and wish you spent more... 640 resolution is more than in your grasp at this price point... avoid 256 and 384 resolution units, and spend it on a higher quality sensor and product...

After using 1280 resolution in all the models, it's hard to drop down to 640 resolution...but they offer the best value and performance for the £££ . Stuck with only 256px resolution I would keep saving for as long as it takes to get a better product..

Like mentioned in the first post, for all the benefits, especially dual display to reduce fatigue and single hand focus, the Quest H35R is well worth a look and it matches to your budget..

If you want a monocular, take a look at the Condor/Falcon 2.0 , Lumi / Vista H35R or Wild 650L models..... stick with 640 resolution..

Thanks pal. It doesn't look like I can go far wrong with any on the options you have mentioned

I must admit it's between the quest and the condor at the moment.

I have the Condor CQ35 v1 and it's a game changer. 640 resolution, LRF is great and can easily be operated single handedly allowing the other hand free to carry sticks etc. Works flawlessly on rainy/misty nights also.

I don't see the need to upgrade any time soon from it, unless I go down the Habrok line - but that would be for the pricey Pro 50 model.

The telos xp50 lrf is amazing, its actually upgradable aswell so future proof, think it maybe a litrle over 2k brand new but had the nocpix lumi before that and the telos blows it out the water
