Forrest Bore Foam

Those of you who use this product, do you find the need to run a brush through, or does the foam do a good enough job on dissolving the copper that a patch is enough to remove it?

Cheers

I have it but truth be told I don't know how effective it really is.
I tend to spray it, leave then patch out before continuing with the rest of the cleaning inc brush and solvent...

I've used it and found it ok.
Leave it for a while and it comes out blue from the dissolved copper.
Use the instructions to get the best results
I must admit I use C2R from the Shooting Shed nowadays.

I use it regularly. Best advice is to ignore the instructions and leave it in the bore for a few hours. It dissolves copper and other fouling well. You can forget your brush.

used it for a very long time and very happy with the rsults but the price now has made me move onto c2r just as good and quicker

I use it, it’s pretty good I think. My barrels don’t foul that much but if you want to know if it’s worked remove the carbon fouling first - spray, leave 10 mins than patch clean. Then spray again and leave a few hours - if you remove carbon and copper together it’s hard to see the blue stain through the black carbon. If you remove the carbon first then on the second cleaning you can clearly see the blue copper stain. I’d love to see what a patch looks like from a heavy fouling barrel just for comparison.

Thanks folks. Using it on a new barrel and getting blue stain on first patch but just carbon on next few then clean after leaving to soak for up to an hour.

Think I'll stick with my current approach.

I use it after a day on a range, i give the barrels blast before heading home. Once home patch out until the patches are clean then soak with KG12 and to be honest I don't get much sign of copper even after soaking with KG12.

I use it with my 7mm 08 on a Krieger barrel after every 10 shots or so. Always use a phosphor bronze brush and then patches until they come out clean. I checked the bore after a clean and it was pretty clean with no signs of copper.

I have used it forever. Modified case in end of plastic tube so no issues with it getting into the action. Place empty plastic beverages bottle over muzzle and squirt away, coupe of short bursts until foam squirts into bottle. I tend to leave for 30 mins, run a brush through and give another squirt and leave. i have recently moved to using a Remington wipe out in .223/.243 and negates the need to use lots of patches. Works better if barrel is hot.
