Fox .308 130gr reload data

Hi there does anyone have any load data for classic hunter 130gr fox bullets. The fox data only gives 1 load using N135 I already have N140 and N550 as well as RL7 and several hodgdon powders, I really don't want to shell out for more powder if I can help it. Any advice would be most appreciated.

Just use the Barnes data on Vihts reloading guide, it lists N140.

However, N135 seems to give superb results in that bullet weight in .308 so it maybe worth the extra cost. What length is your barrel? Anything shortish and you may get unburnt powder and excess muzzle flash from N140.

I was not going to reply to this but..
The load I posted is what I use to very good effect from a standard 308 Sako 85 stainless with over barrel Atec moderator. Don’t even remember the barrel length…20”??
I asked Ed Brewsher who I bought the ammo from for guidance also.
I works very well. N140 works very well in the 308 cartridge.
I have no muzzle flash, I have no issues, it works, every time.
You can get over technical on a lot of this stuff.
You asked a question I provided you concisely with what works not a lot of if buts or maybes.
I gave you actual facts not heresay.
I hope you find it helpful.

41.5 N133 at a COAL of 2.73 inches is my preferred load for a 20 inch barrel.

N550 probably not the best for that bullet.

XXL reloading has a range of 35.8 to 42.6 of N140 with an expected MV at the max weight of 2684 and a pa of 40937. Ed's load is about in the middle with around 39 grains. Worth checking out his data on Edinburgh rifles as they are proofed.

My N133 load is over XXL load maximum for that powder - but no pressure signs. Can't recall MV but a fair bit of boogie behind it. Does seem to cause a lot of bruising on Roe though if you heart/lung.

Usual caveats apply to sharing this.

I’m not sure if you meant to reply to my comment, if you did I don’t really understand your post.

I’ve worked up loads for 130 TTSX / 130 Fox /
125 Virtus / 140 LOS with N135 - all 1/2” MOA or better and low velocity deviations. I notice some muzzle flash with the Barnes TTSX load in low light using a short SL5i.

I’m glad N140 works for you, it’s certainly a viable option.
