Free Books! The Bolt Action Rifle Vol 1&2 by S.Otteson

Possibly the best forgotten gem about classic bolt actions, a must read for those who are interested in the field.

Written in 1976, a bit dated but still relevant (most of these actions or derivatives are still being manufactured).

Resellers are asking around £100 for these.

Hope you enjoy them as much as me.

Very interesting, Vol 2 has an interesting coverage of Sauer rifle evolution, the word "intricate" gets used a lot.

Caberslash only posted screenshots of the contents pages, leaving it to those who are interested to hunt them out for themselves on archive.org. As he explained.

Either read them using the online viewer, or if you want, download them to your device, in a variety of formats. Though you'll need about 600 megabytes spare for the pdfs.

Here:

@Sharpie , the direct links to the PDF's are here:

Quite a few managed to work that out for themselves...

But once again, you have demonstrated that you can use the internet to find readily accessible information. So well done! 👏👏👏

I admit to being equally as unobservant. But seriously, direct links to the .pdfs, each several hundred megabytes, are not very helpful for those using e.g. a 'phone to try to take a look.

If you follow the links that I have given, you will instead have the options to read it on screen without downloading it, or to download in a variety of other formats, such as for kindles and other e-readers.

You will also see suggestions for other related books that might be of interest, as well as the other books that "The mad wizard" has also uploaded.

So I hope that others may find my links of interest too. And possibly more useful.

Thank you for drawing my attention to theses books, and setting me off on my search, even though that was not your intention. I have now discovered many other interesting books on related subjects which I never would have known about if I had simply clicked on your links. So thank you again for that.

No worries and apologies for snarky tone of my previous post.

PDF's are generally the best file format to be found on archive.org as most devices will display them easily and the 'image' quality is optimal as books are usually scanned in through this format.

Ha always read the small print
Forgive me if I have missed something.

The OP posted about an online facility that offers the opportunity that gives those that wish to, the opportunity to read books online.

When you posted "These gone?" I made the (assumption) that you had thought they were "real" books. I never intended to insult you, I only wished to point you, in what I thought, was the right direction. I apologise if that has offended either you or the OP.

@Stalker1962 , none taken :p:stir:

OK.

Here we go.

There is nothing (as far as I can see {Specsavers included} that I can see [ironic]) from your post on 20th May 2020 that indicates "Volume 1" or "Volume 2".

Perhaps it is my very old computer or even older operator which is not up to "spec".

When Lockdown III eases; I promise to have an optician's check-up and will renew my ticket for the mobile library...
