FROST!

First frost in Powys yesterday morning ... boss had to scrape the car in the dark...not a good start to the week :)

No frost on the Monmouthshire/Gloucestershire border yesterday morning just a heavy dew. I did however start feeling the cold while sat in a highseat watching the sun come up over Coleford. I really began to wish that I had put on my neoprene lined wellies rather than my summer Aigle's and also my Thinsulate lined gloves rather than my thin summer gloves.
The landowner later told me (he's a meticulous amateur meteorologist) that the overnight reading on his weather station was 3 degrees.

No sign of frost here in North Devon - but I'm down at sea level, not up in the hills
Had to dig out my waders to go bass fishing though, first time I've worn them since end of May

How can this be, when there’s so much ‘global warming’ going on? Because it’s not us, it’s the Sun which dictates how warm or otherwise it is on Earth.

It’s a trend to cooler times ahead.

Neighbours were snowed in last November for a week. Earliest I’ve seen it here in over 30 years, but in line with this trend. Sleet here on Sunday past. Frost recorded in every month of the year including August in recent years.

Let’s revisit this in say, 2030.

If you go target shooting and normally get 4’s and 5’s but every now and again shoot a 2, do you:
A - blame the 2 on an off shot/dodgy round/the marker
Or
B - suddenly assume that your a crap shooter and 2 is the norm?

That’s the shooting equivalent to your argument about having one cold winter every decade despite real records (the ones measured by real equipment) telling us the the average global temperatures are rising and have been for years!

As the saying goes, one swallow a summer does not make, so one cold snap doesn’t dispel a warming planet!

It's not unusual to get frost here in September. It's been a nice summer here in Sweden, but the air has never gotten warm, often not getting above low double figures evenings and nighttime even when the daytime temperatures were in the mid-20s

I noticed we here never got a warm breeze this "Summer", always a chill on it.
