Hi All,

Athina Sporting has 8,000 acres stalking in St John’s Town of Dalry holding a good population of Roe deer on the lower woodland ground and Red deer and Wild Goats on the hill ground. The current Scottish record stag was taken on this ground in 2010.

Due to the late changeover in the lease, we need to take off 6 larger Trophy Red stags and around 10-12 Red spikes and cull stags before the end of the season. Later in the season this will be followed by about 20 hinds and calves in December and January. We will be posting some weekend packages for the Hind and Doe cull shortly.

We also need to take off around 40 wild goats this year,(about 6 Trophy Billies), to get the population under control and keep the local farmers happy.

All stalking is guided – our guide is an AW with 20 years of stalking experience, living adjacent to this ground. Excellent B&B is available in the village from £40 per night.
We are now taking bookings:

Red stags £250 per day (1x1) or £200 per day (2x1) plus £75 for spikers / £250 for stags up to 9 pints and £750 for trophy stags of 10 points upwards.

Wild goats £250 per day plus £100 for females and immature males with horns under 16”. Trophy Billies are £250 each, with only three left for this season to be taken from 21st Oct onwards.

Venison remains the property of Athina Sporting but can be purchased at current game dealer rates. Badly shot or lost and wounded deer must be purchased at current game dealer rates.

Email Adam@athinasporting.com for more info and to book. Spaces are limited some dates are already blocked off so check with Adam for availability.

Rgds,

Can I just add that any Roe bucks you see, either on the way up to the hill or on the low ground, can be shot for free when you're out after Reds or Goats.

Level 2 AW assessing can also be provided at no additional cost.

We extract the stags with a quad and hill trailer, so there isn't any dragging of heavy carcasses either, which is nice!

It would be even nicer to watch you drag them Adam.

Griff is still in residence and doing the guiding on the high ground, plus AW witnessing when needed - with Scout in tow. It is a lovely piece of ground, probably nearer 11,000 acres topographically.

Adam.

Hi Guys,

Looks like we are now booked out from 12th Oct to the end of the season. Up until the 25th Sep I can do late notice 2x1 rates of £200 on the goats to include a cull goat for each gun. Trophy billies can be taken at the above trophy rates.

Please remember these are wild so they move on and off property according to the weather so we will check forecasts before accepting your booking so as to give you the best chance of success. I will probably be up there on the 19th for a few days so we could get together and meet some fellow stalkers.

you'd want to for £250 a day to shoot goats!!

Well let me tell you all a tale!
2 years ago we invited a friend to shoot Stags on said ground(Garroch), when we arrived there were stags everywhere,he scampered off very excited while both myself and JB looked on from a distance.
We sat and watched said person from about 3/4 mile, we couldn't understand what he was doing at first, he was running like a Zulu after a stag that had seen him, then shortly after that we watched this person going round in circles with his head down, by this time we had seen enough, JB had heard a stag in the Corrie above us and I had seen a stag a bit higher up, so we decided to leave the deranged stalker to his own devices.
JB shot his stag, and I shot the one I had seen soon after,it was then that we were joined by the this youngster.
All was revealed, firstly while running after yon stag he lost the walkie talkie, secondly he lost his rangefinder, thirdly(Yes 3rd)shortly after he had joined us we spotted a large stag heading towards us, when it dissapeared into the dead ground we told him to go and get it! He did so like a Zulu running down the hill to intercept this stag,we coudln't see the stag but we could see the very excited stalker, like a scene from Rourke's Drift a barrage of shots rang out echoing around the forest.we thought good on yer, he filled his boots, we then saw a very bewildered stag running up the banking and then stopping only to have another barrage of shots levied at it.
This stag( possibly a 12 pointer) was totally ****ed of and just returned unscathed back into the forest. One would of thought that that was the end of this sorry saga, but no!
Prior to said stalker arriving with us he put a hole in the sump of his Audi the size of a 50p.Sadly I would like to say this is the end, but its NOT!
I would like to add the lost items on the hill, (walkie talkie,rangefinder)1 Swiss watch!
The cost of the weekend 1K, watching it all unfold PRICELESS!!
Anyone that stalks the Garroch may come across a treasure trove of items, if so I have his number.

£240 doesn't sounds so bad now does it Ben?

Lol.. Cutting! That was possibly the most 'eventful' weekend in my life!! I would happily pay a large sum to shoot the stag wandering round with a rangefinder and walkie talkie.. Snag is, hes got more gear than i have so the odds are probably in his favour.. At least he doesnt have a gun!

(doesnt change my nervous 'yorkshire' twitch when i saw the price of the goats!) Also, people have told me, im not tight because im from Yorkshire, its because of my family name!!
