I used the GK and Prohunter in 100 grain for several years. 42 grains of N160, with a standard CCI primer gave me 2850 fps consistently with good accuracy.
I only stopped using them because I got a bad batch that did horrendous meat damage. I moved to Speer 85 grain SPBT, which I have used ever since.
I think I was just unfortunate in getting a bad batch that made me lose confidence in them. I have shot Red, Fallow and Sika with the 100 grain Sierras.

ive used the 100gr GL with N165 while fire forming my .243AI they were extremely accurate infact silly accurate and the they worked well...

What rifle are you using?? How is your rifle grouping with the sierras ? Any reason for game king option?

Ok I use a sako 85 finlite .
I get excellent accuracy sub moa.@ 100 yds. Using 95 gr nosler ballistic tip hunting with 45 gr viht560
Have dropped everything upto fallow (have never shot sika). If you can get nosler bt they are well worth the extra few quid.

Hi Mate, its a new sako 85, i usaully use 70grn heads, but i need to up it for an outing at sika hinds.

As you can see group 3 was the best 42.4grn N160. I reloaded some more the same as group 3 and they one holed ok. Hope this helps.

Isn't that above the max recommended for Varget with 100gr gamekings? - I guess if they are accurate and you aren't getting any pressure signs it doesn't matter.

Just for info - not for anyone to blindly copy.

It is above the published max but whatever I have tried in this rifle seems slow compared to the published FPS in the manual. There are no pressure signs and the bolt opens and closes smoothly on the brass.

I had the same issue when trying 87gr Hornady BTHP and ended up using the same powder towards the top end of the range.

As ever, every one needs to work up to their own load and this is how it seems to be with my rifle which has a Border 1:10 twist 22" barrel.

Cheers & ATVB

Philip
