I did an off road green laning trip a few months ago, and one guy with General Grabbers did 4, yes 4 tires in the first morning. I know some other people who fitted them, and whilst they seem to be very good on the road, they were wholly unimpressed off road.
The BFG AT's are more expensive, but in my opinion, are massively stronger, and don't appear to wear. I also have the BFG Mud Terrains, and whilst they are great off road, they are noticeably noisier on the road, "entertaining", if making progress, especially need to be careful in the wet, and if braking briskly.
I have only had them on for a few months, but they have visibly worn, and I wouldn't recommend them unless you either do a big % of your driving off road, or are prepared to replace them more often. I'm going to switch back to the BFG AT's, and keep the MT's for the off roading weekends.
