Morning all.

Offered to assist a friend to work up a load for his 6.5CM using GRT but it doesn’t have the bullet he’s using in its database - it’s a Sierra 130gn TGK.

Is there a way to update the bullet database please? - I’ve only just started to use it so may be missing the obvious here! As well as the TGK I’d be very happy if I was able to get data for the Sako 120gn Powerhead Blade bullet too by doing an update.

Gordon died a few years ago GRT gets updated by different volunteers now. They appear not to be included.

You can manually build a bullet using careful measurement and data input, should get you to what your looking for

Sierra tends to lump all the same weight bullets together in its load data, can you at least start with another 130 Sierra bullet?

Word of caution, this file was built by some stranger on the Internet. It may or may not be accurate. Its worth verifying the dimensions against an actual bullet once youve imported it to see if it matches up.

Download that file, then to import it, open GRT, goto "extras" at the top and then "projectile database". In the projectile database window, goto "file" at the top and press import

I cant find a file for the Sako, nor enough specs on Sako's website to build a file, but if you can get a bullet and measure it, you can build your own in the same projectile database window by right clicking under Sako. 0.264 and pressing "New"

Ran it with the 130 TMK last evening but as it transpires from comparison with data from other sources that load is about 1gn over.

Have got a friend to run it through QL this morning & it’s come back with a load that I’d have expected to be about right - a grain or so under the load for the TMK.

Thanks - as above, we’re sorted for the bullet in question but this is really useful to know re the Sako bullets. I’ve been trawling t'interweb looking for bullet data & it seems there’s nothing for Sako bullets from about 2010 - stupid really when they sell them to reloaders!

You might be able to email Sako and ask for the specs you need, or you could do it with a bullet infront of you to measure and the BC that Sako do publish on their website

You can, but you have to do it file by file. i.e one bullet or powder at a time so its easier to just pick the specific ones you are interested in.
As before, these are created by strangers on the internet so be cautious with them.

There's a link to a Discord server in the GRT app, where some volunteers are continuing the project after Gordon passed away. People are able to upload their own files onto there, and then the volunteers collate them onto those Google Drive folders i linked above

Thanks for this. I'll have a look at the discord server and the Google Drive folders. There have been a few times I've looked in GRT and what I wanted wasn't there, maybe it is in the Google Drive folders.

The way I’ve always treating reloading is - 120gn bullet is a 120gn bullet.

Doesn’t matter what brand as long as the weight is right.

As long as your suitability backed of and work up it’s never a problem.
