Growth on a hares liver ?

This was found on a hare’s liver, any idea’s ?

yep normal liver for a hare, if you are used to deer might seem odd but deer dont have a gall bladder. as afar as i know deer are the anomally all other mammals and birds have gall bladders

Bile, from the gall bladder most likely.

Was this opened up fresh or hung whole?

It was hung whole in a chiller overnight for about 12 hrs then paunched
