Guntrader - Potential Scam/Fraud

Hello, please be advised that there currently appears to be a fraud/scam going around whereby, after posting an advert on Guntrader someone will contact you via WhatsApp claiming to be from Guntrader’s support team. They will advise you that your account needs to be verified.

This has been confirmed as fraudulent by Guntrader as it has nothing to do with them - So please do not reply to a message of this nature.

Happy Hunting. 👍🏻

There is another that I received yesterday. An email purporting to come from Guntrader telling you your item (a rifle in my case) has been sold and that to receive payment you need to register a card with them. The email is very convincing, colours, fonts, grammar all very good, complete with a link to your advert. I don't use Guntrader much and have never sold via them, so I started to register but when the very convoluted instructions in tell-tale Asian English to open a Revolute account and deposit funds came up I pulled the plug on it and emailed Guntrader. They very quickly responded and advised it was indeed a fraud. I am usually very wary and alert to such attempts but this one was so good I nearly fell for it. As above, if you get this just delete it.

If you get one of these emails just click the reply butting (but don’t reply) and then scroll down to the email address which should show it’s true origin.

Also you really have to be careful about the use of Cyrillic characters in emails, as there are a number of the characters which are identical to Latin ones but have a very different meaning, which means that Guntrader written with a Cyrillic ‘a’ no longer says Guntrader!

If in doubt message the company directly by using their email address on their website and none other!!
