A lot of non native species about I may have been to harsh and must embrace the concept.Earlier this year I remarked on the disappearance of a line of poplars alongside a footpath that had 'gone' during forestry work in the area. I'd assumed it was because they were old and one or two had started to die, but was told they'd been cut down as 'a non-native species' in accordance with the rules for some forestry grant or conformity regulation or other.
