Well Andy, the boots arrived today as promised by sports pursuits.
Many thanks for the heads up i made a huge saving (over 50%) compared with the retail price of the syncros mate,

I've nothing but good things to say about Sport Pursuit...well worth signing up for their pop-up sales; have bought a lot of great kit from them and their delivery and sales service is tip-top

Also, Camofire.com in the US is good; they'll only ship within the US and Canada...but even if you have stuff sent to family or friends and they ship it to you (repackaged as a 'birthday present' ) it still works out bundles cheaper; I recently bought a Nikon rangefinder for £125...even with UPS shipping to the UK, I still saved over £120 on RRP of £295)
