Hampshire Pest Controllers Shoot Pet Whippet on Golf Course

An item on BBC South...dog was shot on Marryat Hotels Golf Course,Shedfield ,by pest controllers controlling rabbits, who mistook the dog for a rabbit .Police investigating.....trial by Forum ?

Reckon the shooter will have shot at "eyes" instead of being 100% sure what he had in his sights but only he will know for sure.

I remember a story round here of a chap that shot at a set of eyes it was a black lab with owner on lead .Lucky for him he missed. Went to the police and it was denied but i bet his pants were full of brown stuff.

Whilst it's an awful thing to happen, truly distressing to the owner and on the face of it damning for the the shooter, I would caution against jumping to any conclusions and especially against 'trial by forum' as stated by the OP!

This thread comes up on the first page of google if you search for this story... please be mindful of the fact that whatever you write in here, in the eyes of the general public, you are writing on behalf of the shooting community.

100% the forum police are always watching as many on here have witnessed previously I'm sure. I recall a FAC being revoked for unsavoury comments made on a forum!!!

if you look at the picture of the house in the DM you can see the house on Google Maps (South East corner). They say it happened on the right side of the house. I'm sure the law will decide on the next course of action when the dust settles.
