Hausken Thread Adapter

Hi All,

I have a Hausken SK156 moderator. The default thread on the moderator is M14X1, I therefore have to use one of the Hausken thread adapters so it fits my rifle. I'm about to sell the rifle, but want to keep the moderator, but I can't get the thread adapter out of the moderator.... Any advice? The thread adapter fits flush with the moderator so theres no chance of being able to get a grip on the top of it.

Thanks in advance

Tom

Once the moderator is removed leaving the adapter on the barrel.
Do not be tempted to grip the adapter tightly with mole grips or similar, as it will work against you, gripping the barrel threads.

Bit of a balance between just enough grip but not too much, if that makes sense?

Good point, thank you!

Can you get to both ends of the thread adapter? If so, in the past I’ve placed a bolt through the adapter and pinched it up with a couple of nuts on top of each other to lock them in place, I then used the bolt to grip the bush and unscrew it.

If you can get a bolt and a nut the thread of the rifle barrel. Put the nut on the bolt. Thread the bolt into the adapter till it’s through it. Then spin the nut against the adapter to lock the bolt in place. Wind out the adapter with a spanner on the bolt head.

Good luck getting an M14x1 bolt!... I’ve tried and failed in the past.
I don’t suppose they will be off the shelf in every iron mongers. But surely there’s somewhere sells them.

Another option is use thread lock onto the barrel as previously mentioned. Then use heat ie a hot air gun to warm it up and break the bond. Most of the thread lock will tell you what heat it will stand.
