Morning all,
Getting ready to head north tonight to start stalking hinds tomorrow afternoon on the ground that I recently joined a syndicate on.
In the past I have gone up a few weeks later than this so the rut has always been well and truly over, do you think that they will still be rutting now? it would be great to see them in action.
looking at the forecast we are going to be fairly wet most of the time!!

Where will you be?
I was stalking Deeside on Friday and stags were still roaring there and I am off to Glen Lyon later today and I hear that they are still roaring there too.

Just back from Glen Lyon had a great day out and the rut was still very much on. Saw heaps of deer and most were in great shape

The sika seem to be all done, saying that I started finding fresh wallows on Friday morning, but the reds were in full swing all last week and still roaring yesterday morning up in Sutherland.
Have a good trip.

Glen Lyon is beautiful. As I type this I can look at at a Alan B Hayman ltd print of Stags on the Hill which we bought from his studio there. Had the print about 10 years now.
