We get sent pretend scam emails at work on a routine basis and even I get caught out occasionally.

yes happily agree with you on the penalty. Spend a life working and saving for that to happen.

Everyone should read that, these scams seem so easy for the scumbags, and they are so easy to stop, it's quite simple , start using cheques to pay large amounts, cut out the Bank Transfer, I doubt these scumbags are going to give their name and address so you can post a cheque to them.
