Howdy folks,
Stoked to find this site as I rediscover stalking after a ~10 year hiatus. I first got into stalking in my early twenties when I lived with a gamekeeper pal on a large estate in Northamptonshire, with fallow and muntjac, and was lucky enough to go up to the Isle of Mull on the red hind cull.
I'd been pretty crap with a shotgun (I shot with the clay team at uni) but somehow rifle shooting just clicked for me - not to mention how much I enjoyed all the wildlife sightings and field craft that came with stalking.
Now back at home in Devon (between Exeter and Dartmoor), I'm considering a career pivot into deer management (I have a zoology/agriculture background) and I'm lining up my DSC1 for spring 2025 (hopefully Hartland, Devon) while I work on my target shooting and look into FAC applications...
Would be really keen to meet some local folks in Devon/Somerset/Cornwall and get some more hands on experience.
