Hello,

I guess I will mostly be a lurker here. Learning and expanding my knowledge on stalking.

I have enjoyed a few successful and more unsuccessful stalks around Dorset/Hampshire with a couple of mates.

I mostly partake in pigeon control for a hobby and beating/shooting driven pheasant on small farm / family shoots.

Things have moved on.......I applied for FAC in November 2023 and have been advised it will be with me next week with the calibres requested!

Now for expensive & enjoyable decisions to be made!

Good timing too, as on my BASC DSC1 from Thursday for 4 days!!

Well, things have certainly moved on.

Over last year I was in discussion with my FEO. Quite a bit of back and forth and over the summer lucky enough to be invited out by a number of friends, shooting rabbit, foxes and deer.

The discussion with Dorset Police was relaxed and informative both ways.

I completed my DSC1 last year, and my FAC arrived a few days afterwards.

I had been to Stalking Show 2024 to look at shiny things.......of course had my heart set on one of 2 rifles and bought something not on my list! Typical!!!

Picked up a couple of permissions and have been enjoying much time out and about and reaping rewards of wild meat.

Had a gong day which was informative and great to test and confim suitability of my chosen ammo (Sako Blade) out to 510yds.

It's been an enjoyable and great learning experience.
