I was talking to a lady today about the Alpex, as good as it is we were discussing if the daytime image could be made better by drilling a small hole in the objective cap so you use it with it closed instead of open? I remember the earlier nv required this so we were wondering if it sound help in any way?

Lens cap cover for the Alpex Lite is only £10.99. Might be worth giving it a go, although I'm not really seeing the need
Sometimes in daytime the picture is crappy we find, but saying that it is £800 and a digital scope so it’s never going to be what we would like but I was just wondering if it would improve anything or not. Just curious that’s all

I'm guessing the aperture control on the objective housing tries to achieve the same thing, but perhaps it could stop down smaller. I remember the old army CWS used to have a lens cap with a small hole in it which worked pretty well.

maybe you could just mock something up to test the theory, I was just thinking some cardboard cut to fit inside the objective.. doesn't have to be pretty!
