HikMicro Alpex PRO A50PL Digital day & night scope - VERSUS - DNT ZULUS 4K Digital day & night scope - VERSUS - NocPix NITE D70R digital day & night

I have been put off using a rear add on by the voices that say "rear NV does not work with quality glass coatings", March are a 'quality' scope, do they behave differently, is it a feature of the Vulpine, or can I successfully use a new gen. Pard on my S&B scopes?
I don't want to go full digital for the little night shooting I do, (except rats, which I found was the original Alpex best use) don't want to be constantly switching scopes if I can avoid it and have been equally put off front thermal by the cries of "Add ons shift zero".
So I would much appreciate the views of someone who has used a rear nv successfully (or otherwise) on quality glass.
March is quality glass but it is Japanese and not Euro and the coatings are different which in large part is why they work so well when some Euro stuff like Schmidt, Swaro, Zeiss, Leica etc might not be quite as compatible. The resolution, contrast and overall imaging on the March scope, for me, is better than I have seen on pretty much all other scopes but they are not low light monsters like Zeiss and Schmidt, so maybe the coatings that make the Euro stuff so good in low light, are providing some sort of obstacle for NV? Another significant aspect is how low the scope will focus in terms of distance. The March will focus down to very low distances. As in 10yds or so. I don't know the science behind it but a scope with no focus adjustment or maybe something that only adjusts down to 50m or 100m, will struggle more.

I do have a S&B Polar T96 on one rifle and I keep meaning to try the add on it to offer some feedback on this subject but it is on a rifle that I simply do not use for NV work, so I never end getting round to it. I can say I have tried the Vupline on a Leica Amplus 6 3-18x44 and that worked fine. Not quite as good as March and Delta scopes but certainly better than the dedicated digital tubed scopes I have used.

My question would be, if your S&B scopes have focus/parallax adjustment down to at least 50m (Preferably much lower) then you will probably find they will work. How well I cannot answer though. Sorry for being vague. If I ever get round to testing the Schmidt, I will let you now but it is not really on my impending "to do" list right now.

Thank you for your valued advice.
I have a Japanese produced Vortex Razor on a 22 (interchanged with an original Alpex) but these also seem to be on the list of 'don't work with NV' . Feed back on the March is very helpful as I am considering replacing the 3-12x50 S&B Zenith on my 243 (which serves for longer range foxes) with a March compact, mostly to make a lower mounted tidier outfit.
I use a S&B 'long range' 4-16x50 with side parallax down to 50m on my 17hmr so that may be worth a try with a Pard. I am looking towards a Zulus V2 on the 22 which these days mostly gets used for rats and shorter range squirrels- unless somebody confirms that a Pard 007SP2 will work on that with the Vortex Razor 3-15x42 ?

I have only ever used one Vortex scope with NV and it was a Diamondback HP many years ago. It was flat out terrible with add ons but that was a very long time ago. Probably nearly 10yrs back.

The Razor series of scopes are their really decent full on Japanese made scopes. I would say there is a chance that might work ok but you cannot tell without trying.

There was a guy on here very recently selling a March Compact 2.5-25x52 scope (SFP variant) with low profile turrets and the best illumination setting for a mere £1250. It was mint. I nearly bought it but I need to stop with the needless scope purchases. This is the variant I would personally buy as a scope that could do stalking, night vision add on work and proper target stuff. It is still fairly small and lightweight. Just bear in mind it probably won't be quite as good at low light as your Zenith but still better than the smaller 42mm variant I use (it is not on either of my stalking rifles though)

A great review thankyou of real life experience. I am not desperate so I will wait for the Nocpix D70R and will give the feedback after some night sessions.
Thankyou, no probs, only thing I'd say to be aware of with the Nocpix is the 5x base mag, it's the same as the Zulus 520 which I've found for foxing sometimes to be too much, when your calling and scanning in the distance then one appears 30yds away, finding it quickly in the scope then takes a moment longer at 5x, especially if its still moving towards you 🤣👍

I think you may be talking about the full sized Wraith with the big Yukon lens bottom of the two in first image.

I’m referring to the Wraith ESL (Extra Small Laser) its far more compact and lighter than those type of torches, Sirrius, DFK, PBIR etc.
Having owned both and tested together without doubt the Wraith ESL performs better than the Blade with dedicated NV.

I've got an esl as well as the Sirius, definitely a good bit of kit 👍
