For Sale: How Do I sell Powder?

Advice required please
I have several part used and unused 1 Kg bottles of powder that I no longer need - I am giving up centre fire shooting/reloading
I understand that they cannot be posted and that any sale should be Face to face with a view of the buyers FAC
What is the best/easiest way of disposing of them please ?
I live quite close to Minsterly Ranges and I could meet potential purchasers there
Some are opened but not used and there are some part used I assume that I need to weigh the contents and work out a price
Any further suggestion please ?
Many Thanks
Ed

You might also find that part used bottles are less desirable than full sealed bottles but obviously if the price reflects then someone will buy it
You can also just dump it all into an auction like Southams Holts wilson55 etc. There is one quite close to you that I can’t remember the name right now and another one not too far again I’m sure someone else will know it - advantage of putting it into the auction is that it’s simple and dealt with
You could obviously sell the stuff that everyone wants and then dump the rest into an auction

if you list it in the reloading section ,stating what is in seal tubs etc you will get some one to buy some, what you have left over you can sprinkle on your lawn as fertiliser ,price it sensibly it will sell, try to get todays price for 5 year old powder should be a no go but some one may be desperate .good luck with the sale

Thanks all
Will be putting it up with prices later today
I am giving up centre fire shooting and have a mass of reloading bits to dispose of - watch this space !!
Thanks again

Just seeing the title, i hope you are not meaning the Columbian marching powder…. if so being more discreet would be the first order of business…….:rofl::rofl:

Just say all the others come free with the Varget and price accordingly. People will fall over themselves for the magical powder that is varget!

The answer to this would be, find a man of South Balkan extraction in a German car with tinted windows, I'm sure he would be able to offer some pointers

I wanted some powder last year. I only have a SGC now and I read the law online and it turns out that you can also sell all powders to an SGC holder.

In the UK, the requirements for purchasing reloading "shooters' powder" (smokeless powder) are as follows:

For Smokeless Powder (Nitro Powder):

  • Firearms Certificate (FAC) or Shotgun Certificate (SGC): You must hold a valid Firearms Certificate or Shotgun Certificate to purchase smokeless powder. This is a legal requirement under the Explosives Regulations 2014. While some retailers may have additional company policies, the core legal basis is your FAC or SGC.

So while you may find some retailers saying you need a magnum calibre on your FAC to buy magnum powder there is always going to be some powder that can be used for shotgun, handgun and other ammunition so it could get a bit silly trying to control which powder someone can buy with which authority
