How many deer do you shoot in a season

Duck it I lost the video of you singing all happy with your Fallow, but the first line I can remember

.... one can post pics but If your like me who hosts them on another website for storage I have to manually resize them all.

Additionally I figured out right now, you can only attach 5 files! I guess a highlight post anyway of my year (not inc stags) the 3rd, and 5th weighed 370g 320g.

Would love to get to those averages for Stalks per cull!
Currently on about 4:1 so always trying to get it lower.........
I've blanked on the last 4 outings though - law of averages. I could have taken a roe doe on Tuesday but we are in balance at present, its the fallow I need down and that night, they were in as field across the wooded valley, not on my ground :banghead:

The correct and frankly only answer is:

"Not nearly enough"

I will correct you there the correct answer is actually too many!

If you look at the bigger picture, what is the bigger problem? Human beings expanding into Deers territories or deer themselves?

In my personal opinion, humans are the problem not the deer, we as stalkers have to clear the way to make room for human population expansion

We have members that shoot a schitt load and then we have members that shoot a few.
A lot of deer are shot at night with thermal or light,do they count as far as the word "stalking" means?
The fella that stalks day time deer and wins is the fella that gets my points.
We have many here examples of those that cant shoot a deer in the daytime that shoot heaps of sambar at night.
Here is an old video of WILD sambar stags feeding that are oblivious to my presence at 50-60 yards.
How hard is it? Come daytime those stags are high on a bush mountain several k`s away.

That's not strictly true, as deer numbers have expanded exponentially in recent years, and the deer themselves have moved into areas with an existing high human population.
But new human infrastructure (roads, fencing, solar farms etc), is impacting on deer movement, channeling them into areas where conflict is inevitable.
Regardless of deer, there are indeed too many humans.

I’ll settle on 60/40 human expansion to deer

Have you joined the Green Party or the Sultana & Corbyn offering?

Get a grip, man!

Fire and miss.
I shot around fifty roe last year. More does than bucks, maybe 70/30?

This year, after closing my wee venison business, I've shot maybe thirty?

I reckon a good 10% were clean misses. Thankfully, all were either dead or missed. I've made my share of bad shots, and I don't ever want to have to confess to another 😒
