Hi all.

Looking at starting to reload .270 130g. How many rounds are you getting out of a 500g tub of powder roughly?

500g = 7,716 gr

Divide 7,716 by your load = number of rounds.

Its not many for a 270. roughly 3.5 grams is roughly is roughly 55grains, so about 300 ish to the kilo, about 150 to half, bot more or less depending upon load.
Simply type into google your load from grains to grams, or even if you use a online reloading manual, set it to Metric ! and bingo, do the maths

At 56grs of n160 or n165 under a 130-150 bullet just divide your load as above .

I use 54 grains of H4831 and get 142 charges from a tub. Velocity is around 2750 which practically turns it into a .275 Rigby but with a 130 grain bullet.

I'm actually two grains below it according to the Lee manual.

I had two accuracy nodes. One at 59, and the other at 54. And given that the 54 grains fills over half the case and covers the primer I figured I was at no risk of a flashover. And it gives me an additional 16 charges.

I reckon I've put over 500 rounds through the rifle now, and each one has been sweet to shoot, as accurate as I need it to be, and delivers superb results at sensible ranges on even red deer.

I can't argue with success.

The only issues I found was a slight sooting of the necks occasionally when I first started using this load. I just anneal more regularly now though, and that seems to have cured it
