Any recommendations for hunting reads that aren't dead straight and on topic?

Looking for a good read with some humour and whimsical tales of trips and travels.

Thank you,

Described as campfire tales of some of his adventures.

Sounds like the kind of thing I'm after.
I read John Sharp's book the other day, it's a cracker.

Other African titles not mentioned and more contemporary:

Tall Tales by Buzz Charlton
Memoirs of an African Safari Hunter by Terry Irwin
Shadows in an African Twighlight by Kevin Thomas
Safari by Bartle Bull
It shouldn't happen to a vet by Kevin Robertson (he of the perfect shot)
African Trails by Col Allinson

Gorillas were my Neighbours, I am not much of reader , but I enjoyed this book.

To my certain knowledge, some of those old timers stories were toned down not embellished. We are talking about a generation that pretty much didn't know what exaggeration was!
