Hi all,

Looking for a reputable hunting lodge that won't bust the bank. (Hopeful I know but got a healthy budget 😂) going to be in port Elizabeth and Capetown a week at each, on honeymoon with the soon to be wife, going in August. 7th till 20th.

Will need rifle hire/guided etc would love to hunt/stalk a blesbuck, impala and a spring buck. Maybe budget for something else as well? Will also need help with shipping the trophys back to scotland. Ideally want them European mounted, Looking for 2 days hunting and 2/3 days safari...

Any help Appreciated, thanks all

Have a look at Game 4 Africa Safaris. I hunted with them last year. I did post a hunt report.
I could not fault them. The package was,for what it was, very reasonable. Wik Coetzee is a very competent PH. The lodge is superb, lovely chalets, great food and he stocks Jameson in the bar !
You will not be disappointed. There’s plenty of good things mentioned about them on African Hunting.

2 × rifle hire, surely? And 2 × blesbuck, impala and springbuck?
This is your honeymoon, after all.
Or perhaps you're only going as an observer, to keep the cost down.....?

My partner would just come watch, she's happy to stalk here in Scotland but not too keen on doing it abroad.

This outfitter is conveniently located for Port Elizabeth and would be worth a look.

I’ve regularly hunted there for over 10 years and have a really nice 5 star lodge including a honeymoon suite😉.

PM me if you’d like more information.

I've done over 15 safaris across southern Africa, and one of the best outfitters I have worked with is based about one hour from PE.

ljhuntingsafaris.co.za

Never fails to find top quality trophies, game is plentiful, concessions are very large (not something you can take for granted in the Eastern Cape), and his prices are fair.

Happy to answer any questions over DM, but I recommend you have a chat with Juan.

Best wishes,

I hunted with Huntershill Safaris - Huntershill Safaris which was good value and 50,000 acres. It is about a four hour drive north of PE (they will pick you up in PE if you aren't hiring a car.)

If you want the details of the UK agent Neil Jones drop me a DM.

There are places closer to PE but I knew a few guys who had been there before and also because I had my wife and youngest daughter with me and there was plenty to keep them amused: pool, wifi, zoo etc. If you don't need those facilities Huntershill have another place nearer PE I gather.

The best advice I had was 'tell the PH that you want to hunt the British way i.e. walk and stalk in to under 300m.' The bulk of their clients are from the US and some of them are happy to shoot from the vehicle and/or like to shoot at extreme ranges. Oh, and 'take your quad sticks' as their homemade tripods are not ideal on a wee antelope at range!

If you are driving between PE & CPT Addo Elephant park is kinda in the middle for photographic.

Home - Dorp is a great hotel in CPT recommended by the guys in my company office there, I stayed for a week in September. Very good for Table Mountain access.

I have been with Settlers Safari 3 times now, and planning to go back this year. They’re about 1 1/2hrs drive from PE
I have also been with settlers safaris on numerous occasions and have always had great experiences, very friendly and professional.
