Hydro Dipping

I used Hydro-graphics near York about 10 years ago when they were much smaller than they are now....excellent job on a McMillan stock which was shocking from the factory !
It was so bad that they paid for it to be refinished...the finish is still as good today as when it was new.
Regards, Rob.

I’ve had two stocks done, one was a Tikka T3 stock in a Matt Autumn Camo pattern, this was around £85, the stock is frirst sprayed with a primer, then dipped in a hydro dipping film of your choice, the film will only stick to the primer coated surfaces, the stock once dry is then sprayed with several coats of clear lacquer, this can be Matt or gloss, depending on how you want the finished stock to look.

I also has a Sako 85 synthetic stock hydro dipped In a Matt carbon fibre pattern. I got the rubber over moulded finish stripped off first using cellulose thinners. The dipping process was a lot more labour intensive as each of the rubber grip inserts on the stock has to be masked off before being primed and dipped, the price of dipping this stock was £125.

I used a company called Aqua Graphix in South Wales who are local to me.

I’m pleased I’ve seen this post… I was searching and looking into Hydro Graphics at York yesterday. as I’m considering ordering a stock and having it dipped. Good to see they get great feedback. I believe they are part of the Twisted Group.

I have used Hydro Graphics many times when John Sykes was running it and always had great service. I now have a stock in with them being custom painted and although I haven't got it back yet their customer service has been fantastic.

Good to know as they sprayed this and I’m hoping they can recall the colour code so I can have a matching moderator:
