I collected 2 Peter Eaton Elmax knives today

I called in on @Peter Eaton today to collect two of his Elmax knives... he showed me his workshops, kit, patterns, steel ... he is such a professional craftsman. I don't need two - but how can you resist?

These are stunning to look at and in the hand... hopefully they'll be in action this week. The sheaths are amazingly well made and sculpted to the knife - a perfect snug fit. The combination really is a work of art... and I can't wait get blood on them!

I had a chance to look at these too...

These are fabulous knives...

My only (hopefully constructive) observation is that such a pair of distinctively coloured knives deserve a somewhat more complementary hued leather or Kydex sheath.

💯 the beauty of personal choice.

For me, I love the combination with the lustrous depth of colours in the leather. Maybe the photo doesn't do them justice.

Pete's a top bloke. I was handed some top tips from him a while back on keeping my Sandvik blades in tip top order. Excellent to deal with, reliable and a top craftsman 👍

Peter made me something 'very custom' for fallow 2 seasons ago and apart from stropping and the odd ceramic steel you can barely tell it's been used.
It's stupidly sharp and despite being used for hocking and all sorts is just the most enjoyable blade to keep using. Would not have credited how well the Elmax handles bone strike and just keeps going.

12 fallow does later (incl head and legs) and with just a few swipes on one of @Peter Eaton 's flexi strops, it's as sharp as Day 1. I'm so pleased with this knife.

Without having to re-sharpen, I also haven't done my usual trick of rounding the point...
