I enjoy a nice cup of coffee but this is wrong.

hope you all stopped eating chicken, or so called free range/ barn reared eggs etc.

Absolutely not, at the moment I have a touch over 38,000 in my care and they're all treated with the highest welfare standards. It's called Grade A chicken for a reason.

There is a place near me that has 240,000 chickens in several units, did hear it was a 42 day turn around, not sure about my thoughts on that but it wouldnt stop me eating chicken

I have never had this, but for years and years it has been hailed as the mother of all coffee beans. It is supposed to be so good because of all the enzymes that have 'roasted' it as it passes the digestive track of the cat...

I was only tryin to point out that you are signing a patition raised by a person you know nothing about or a subject you know nothing about, I could post hundreds of quotes from antis who could slag off production methods in grade A chicken farms, not all of them would be true or accurate, and no I don,t drink this coffee.

What we are talking about here in essence is the humane treatment of an animal that is being used for our own foibles. I have nothing against anybody who wants to drink the coffee and pay through the nose for doing so. It just comes down to how do we treat that animal in getting there.
This is a subject which I believe is close to all of the people on here as we all wade in when we think an a deer has been improperly treated. Why should this be any different?
With regards signing a petition, then no I do not know the person raising the petition but do I need to? and yes I did read the propaganda very carefully.
As a thought it is very much similar to the production of Foie-Gras in France. Geese are force fed corn which causes their livers to become enlarged before being slaughtered. In some countries it is banned and the practice is constantly under scrutiny in Europe for its welfare reasons. I have tried it but will not again due to this practice.

Are we buying 'Grade A' chicken
because of welfare standards or because it tastes better?

James Martin the (celebrity) chef is trying to do a Jamie Oliver and he intends to dramatically improve NHS hospital food... Some of the patients in the trial said it wasn't the first time they have been fed by a tube.
