I nearly shot the Sheriff, but shot his deputy.

Work finished time to go stalking, new bit of ground for 2026 so putting in a lot of leg work also after 3 trips of deer o'clock managed 3 foxes as he shares land for a small game shoot with his neighbour, these were sky lined also a contractor on this block, so the bachelor boys who were with them last time must be somewhere:-|
A good wind also hot deer shapes in the distance, I buzzed the farmer if he could check if I could use his neighbours side of the hedge for cover so while I was getting my kit and a plan a 👍 text came through as this was going to be a long wait!
And it was! as the "Sheriff decided to bed down for around 40 mins then got up and walked off out of sight onto next doors so a sneak peek showed 6 lumps and as the do looking at me (by #uck they are sharp) but you can't give up so I found an angle that would work and waited with this one deciding to make a move.
135 yds in the neck dropped where he stood, a 270 yard up the gradient with the deer cart and a easy pull back to the truck, I backed up to the concrete lip so up he came off the cart in the tub, I never take the leg/neck handles off as great to move them around.
Sitting hot a 55kg so at a guess 52kg when he goes in, shot time 4.53pm .
