Image stabilised Binos?

Anyone tried image stabilised Binos and got any views on them?

I've used stabilising gimbals for filming and even a very fancy IS camera before and the effect was really pretty impressive so am tempted

On the other hand I'm not sure I need another thing to charge Vs so actual glass which never runs out of battery

Saw that Canon have a decent set for about 400 at the moment
They are 10x30 but I assume if the image is not shaking like a s#*@ting dog then smaller objective than usual will be fine

I have the Canon 18 x 50 IS bins, whilst optically nowhere near the quality of my zeiss conquests, the stabilisation is brilliant. There is no way you could use 16 x mag handheld, but when you switch it on, it is absolutely steady. They are too heavy to carry around in the field and mostly live at home for use in the garden.

I've image stabilisation on my HIK Micro Habrok 4K.

The really telling thing was that it came as an update a few months back. Pre-update, 22x zoom was unusable without resting on my sticks. Post-update, I can free hand at max zoom with no issues.

Witchcraft

Also Habrok battery life is insane

Agree

I tried a pair of Sig imaged stabilised binos out in here in NZ and have been saving ever since. I think paired with a thermal for detection they take some beating. It would mean I could leave my spotting scope at home more often which is a whole bunch of weight I like to avoid carrying as much as possible.

Yes. They are fantastic.

I have Zeiss 20 x 60S
Kite APC 16 x 42
Canon 10 x 42 IS , 15 x 50
Fujinon 14 x 40 techno stabi

All have their uses. Fujinon for boating, Zeiss/Kite for long distance work. Canon for general use.

Canon are superb, truly swarovski tier binocular image. Even better because stabilisation lets you study image in more detail. The Sig look v similar to my Kite[belgian brand but the IS line made in Japan] so I think they are subcontracted to Kamakura who specialise in IS binoculars.

Swarovski have a new spotter called ATB thats uses image stabilisation and its getting rave reviews.

Just my 2p - I have HIK Habrok HQ50l binos. I know they are digital/multispectrum - but on 22x the image auto stabilises and very good at it. Can record too, use thermal and NV (only 22x in day mode image stabilisation) but generally got everything in 1 set of binos.

I got a pair of SIG Zulu Image stabilised in Bass pro last winter, there 16x.
I used them alot and find them fantastic id highly recommend them, the only negative is they don't cover with ocular covers but I
3D Printed a set as with our climate rain is ether present or coming.

Regards,
Glendine.

I have had a look through these and they are amazing.

at the minute I just use an STC with my iPhone doing the image stabilisation.
I looked through a kite, saw kite and immediately thought pilkington🙄 turns out Japanese sold by browning, the guy marketing them at the stalking show. Image stability was amazing and they do a monocular too so very tempting 😀

Most are made in Japan rebrands. Nikon and Fujinon old 14 x 40s were same.

If anyone is interested in a set of Kite 16 x 42 I am considering moving on as I got too many

What about the 20x60S ? Any recommandation for carrying them while stalking ?

Agree 100% on US import... Let's wait for a possible answer as I can not identify the brand and type: these things are huge, so I better off having the correct spec....

My mates using these Alpen’s
and at fantastic

Although there not in stock they can be had if you search the web

Buck.

One factory in Japan produces these on license for many brands mentioned. Kite, bresser, sig and these look same.

The kites are cool v lightweight 900g vs 1.6kg for zeiss but those are heirloom type set.

16x is pushing it in 42mm glass so 20x likely bit more difficult to use.
